Alcohol Inks 101
Play & Learn
Instructor: Chelsea Sparks
Join Chelsea in the shop for some collective art fun! The workshop in alcohol inks doesn’t require any previous experience or a belief in “artistic ability,” just a desire to play and stretch your creative muscle. This class isn’t about making representational art, it’s about enjoying the way the translucent inks move around the special paper and exploring new ways to combine and manipulate them. Most people find it very relaxing and meditative, with a bonus of having beautiful art to take home in the end. This is a terrific class to take with friends, and a great place to make new ones! Bookings for private classes available for parties of 8 peeps. |
Alcohol Inks: Round 2
Grow, Learn more
Instructor: Chelsea Sparks
Did you fall in love with using alcohol inks in your class in Chelsea’s 101 class? Well, she’s been cooking up a follow up class called Alcohol Inks: Round 2 class for those of you that want to continue to explore more possibilities of the medium. She’ll introduce a few more techniques and paper options. You’ll take your alcohol ink work to a new level. This time you’ll try different papers and some techniques to your tool bank. You will work longer on a couple larger pieces with color selection and composition in mind. |
Pride Mobius Flower Jewelry
Necklace, Bracelet and Earrings
Instructor: Sarah Norris of piHole Designs
People have been weaving metal rings together for centuries to make armor and clothing. In this class we’ll use metal rings in a way medieval knights never imagined. We’ll use aluminum jump rings in rainbow colors to create three pieces of jewelry that you can wear when you leave. You’ll learn a weave called the Mobius flower, and you’ll use it to create a bracelet, earrings, and a pendant. |
Gridlocked
Collage & Encaustic
Instructor: Bette Brody of Bette's Creations
Release your inner spirits and get ready to create a mixed media grid which speaks to you. We are going to “loosen up” using a structured gridded pattern on a solid wood substrate. Each of us will map out our own unique pattern on a prepared textural surface and begin playing and exploring using found object elements, paint, paper and wax, creating a whimsical piece of art. |
