Deana has been sewing since the age of 6, when Santa brought her a weird little machine that sewed with a glue cartridge. Motivated mainly by a need for pockets, she started making clothes (on a real machine with thread) in a sewing class in high school.
The years of raising three small kids sent sewing mostly to the back burner. Deana started making Nom Nom Monster bags when her kids were in elementary school, selling mostly in her Etsy shop and to other kids at the school. She started selling at the Monster of a Show in Baltimore in 2011, fulling committing to the Monster Artist lifestyle.
Nom Nom Monster bags are still her primary occupation, but Deana is branching into upcycled fashion, hoping to tread a bit more lightly on the planet while making clothes that are fun, funky, and functional (POCKETS!)
